In a bid to enhance responsible and circular practices within Bangladesh's textiles industry, a series of train-the-trainer workshops were recently conducted in Dhaka, Bangladesh. These workshops are part of the SWITCH to Circular Economy Value Chains program, and were led by Circle Economy Foundation in a collaboration with Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), Reverse Resources, Global Fashion Agenda, and global fashion brands H&M Group and BESTSELLER.

UNIDO, Chatham House and Circle Economy Foundation as global partners of the Switch to Circular Economy Value Chains (SWITCH2CE) project, joined a mission in Egypt to meet with local partners and coordinate on the upcoming project activities in the country. In Egypt, SWITCH2CE will support the circular transition in the ICT and electronics sector, through a pilot implemented with private sector partners Orange, Nokia and Cordon. The pilot will develop a high-quality standard secondary market for mobile devices and network/IT. 

To inspire suppliers in the telecommunications sector to make the switch to circular economy, UNIDO, through its global Switch to Circular Economy Value Chains (SWITCH2CE) project joined the latest edition of the annual Global Supplier Forum organized by the global telecom Orange.

After an engaging and informative panel discussion, the event "Piloting solutions for increased traceability in the Bangladesh textile industry: the approach of Switch to Circular Economy Value Chains project" has successfully achieved its objectives.

In response to the escalating challenges posed by plastic pollution, an international dialogue was hosted in Rabat, Morocco, this week to explore how African nations can better work together to end plastic pollution. In particular, the dialogue explored the merits of developing a pan-African standard for recycled PET.
